“Envisioning the future of mankind”

Virtual Innovation Competition 2021 (VIC21)  is organized by Association of Information Scientists (AIS), Digital Information Interest Group (DIGIT), Research, Industry & Alumni Division, Universiti Teknologi MARA Kelantan, MALAYSIA, and Society of Information System Management (SISMA). Featuring innovations from diverse fields and streams, the objectives of the event are:

  • To nurture the culture of innovation and design in the field of teaching and learning and other related fields among educators, students, and the public.
  • Provides a prestigious platform for educators, students, and the public to participate and showcase their innovations and designs through a digital platform.


Extended Abstract

Participants are encouraged to submit an extended abstract/ the full paper version of their project which will be published in e-proceeding (eISBN).

To speed up the publication process, we have utilized the Open Journal System (OJS) open-source information system.

In order to speed up the production process, the participant must follow the following steps:
1. Prepare your Extended Abstract using the template provided.
2. Register your account at the submission URL.
3. Upload your extended abstract (Microsoft Word).
4. Key-in authors details (for all participants).
5. Submit.

Judged by the experts

Participants will be judged by a panel of experts appointed by the organisers. Therefore, expect some constructive comments from our experts.


  • VIC21 is open to all Local and International practitioners, academician, and students from the primary, secondary, and tertiery institutions (certificate level to PhD level).
  • Each participation should not consist of more than 7 members and 1 team leader (maximum of 8 persons per participation).
  • Each participant should apply for copyright to avoid infrigment of their innovation.
  • The organisers have the right to reject any entry deems unsuitable for the event.

  • Register your project at VIC21 website: https://vic21.uitmkelantan.com/vic-2021-registration/
  • A letter of Acceptance (LOA) will be automatically issued for the accepted project. Please check your email for the copy of the PROJECT ID (I.E. YS10, 3MT1, SS1, ST1)
  • Upload your video to any cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, One Drive, etc). Please ensure that you set the permission to public.
  • Upload proof of payment, your video link, and evidence at the VIC21 website – https://vic21.uitmkelantan.com/vic-2021-upload-video-receipt/
  • The organizer will verify the payment, Once verified, the video will be uploaded to VIC21 Jurying System.
  • A panel of expert reviewers will review all the projects submitted.
  • Most Outstanding Video Award will be selected by the juries.
  • Announcement of results through VIC21 YouTube Channel, VIC21 website, and email.
  • The judges’ decision is final, and no appeals will be entertained.




3-Minute Thesis: Rules and Regulation

  1. Video must not exceed 3 minutes.
  2. Participants exceeding 3 minutes of presentation will be disqualified.
  3. Eligibility– Students pursuing a formal education either a first degree (bachelor), masters or doctoral degree with an ACTIVE status from Local or International universities, colleges, etc.
  4. The Presentation must be in a spoken word only (no poem, singing, voice replacement, etc.).
  5. The presentation must be in English.

Last year, we received a lot of requests for the purchase of the award medal. Since VIC is an online event and among the most affordable, we can only provide 1 unit of Medal and an e-certificate of participation and awards. However, you may order for EXTRA medal. Please upload the payment evidence when submitting your video and evidence. Do NOT NEED to manually email the receipt to the secretariat.

Certificate of Competition & Medal

The organizer provides 1 unit of medal and a digital certificate (e-certificate) of participation and award. However, if you need a printed version or EXTRA winner’s medal, you may fill in the printed certificate request form before the 5th of October, 2021 The price per certificate is RM10 plus RM10 to RM15 for delivery (Participants may combine several certificates within a single delivery), while the price of the medal is RM50 per piece inclusive of delivery fee.
